Summer that is.
It really does seem way too short, just a few months do enjoy beautiful weather, the beach, camping, amusement parks. It's such a fast paced, squeeze as much in as we can in a few months that it really does fly by. As summer is coming to an end I've got two things on my mind. The first, Ben starting kindergarten...such a bittersweet time for me. I can't wait for him to take this step but at the same time, I just don't want to let him go.
The second thing, finishing off summer with a bang!
Today is our families, special summer day. Today we go to our local amusement park and let Ben run wild! We only do this once a year, mainly because its crazy expensive. It'll cost our family $75 just to walk through the door! Plus food (yes I'm packing a picnik lunch), drinks and gas. It's a little more than an hour away. It easily becomes a $150 day. But, you know what...it's worth it. To see the smiles on my kids faces, to be able to live it up, just enjoying the moment. It's worth me giving up the sweater I was drooling over last night.
Our day is starting way too early. I have yet to pack our snacks and lunches, feed everybody breaky and visit our favorite coffee makers. Timmies will love us this morning! Extra large double double for me please, maybe two...I'm gonna need it! Long drives make me so sleepy, and to do one so early in the morning isn't a great way to get my energy level up...some extra caffeine will help me along the way.
I hope everyone is planning their own End Of Summer event, and enjoys every last minute of it! As for me, I'm gonna grab my sunglasses and head out the door. Summer fun is calling my name!
